Luxembourg Garden
Between Saint-Germain-des-Prés and the Latin Quarter, in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, is the Luxembourg Garden, a beautiful 23-hectare park, 21 of which are open to visitors. This green oasis of peace was commissioned by Florentina Maria de Medici in the 17th century and was inspired by the Boboli Gardens in Florence.
The Luxembourg Park, which is part of the Senate today, has around a hundred statues and invites its visitors to visit the gardens in English and French landscape style, the geometric forest in the Quincunx pattern, the beautiful Medici fountain with romantic charm, the conservatory orchard and all that to discover large pools of water with its chairs for breaks.
The younger visitors can now benefit from the many playground equipment and activities on site: carousels, slides, swings, pony rides, puppet shows … you will definitely not get bored!
To the north of the garden are the elegant Palace of Luxembourg, the seat of the Senate, Little Luxembourg, the residence of the President of the Senate, and the orangery, which hosts temporary exhibitions in summer.
