Saint-Eustache church
At the heart of the Les Halles district in the 1st arrondissement is one of the most visited churches in Paris, the church Saint-Eustache. In addition to its Gothic architecture and its Renaissance-style decor, its size, which almost resembles that of a cathedral, is also impressive. It was built from 1532 to 1640 according to the plans of Notre-Dame, restored by the architect Victor Baltard after a fire in 1844 and is now one of the most beautiful churches in the French capital. Inside you can see beautiful windows in the choir, a monumental bench in the center of the ship and a very beautiful axial chapel dedicated to the Virgin. The church is also famous for its organs, which are among the largest in France, and offers free organ concerts every Sunday afternoon. The church also regularly hosts concerts by choirs and other philharmonic groups and prestigious festivals.
After the visit, you can take a break in the nearby, pleasant Nelson Mandela garden and enjoy the beautiful view of the south facade of the Saint-Eustache church.
