Montparnasse tower
The huge Montparnasse tower in the 15th arrondissement near the Montparnasse – Bienvenüe metro station surely offers one of the most beautiful panoramas of the city of Paris in addition to the Eiffel Tower. This 210 m high skyscraper was opened in 1973 and was initially heavily criticized. From its top, however, you have a clear view of such important monuments as the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Invalidenheim , the Garden of Luxembourg and the Center Pompidou .
With one of the fastest elevators in the world, you can get to the 56th floor in just 38 seconds. Once there, you enter a huge viewing platform, from which a staircase leads to the 59th floor. From there you can enjoy a breathtaking 360 ° view of the rooftops of Paris and thanks to the orientation boards you have a precise overview of the monuments in the city. The panorama, which is worthwhile at any time of the day, is spectacular, especially at sunset or at nightfall, when the city is bathed in its fairytale lights.
A little further down on the 56th floor with its large panoramic windows you can also enjoy a beautiful view of the city, but you can also visit a permanent exhibition with archive photos about Paris, where, in addition to the pictures, interactive information points and boards present the city in augmented reality. A panorama bar and a gastronomic restaurant, one of the highest in Europe, complete the offer.
At the foot of the tower stretches all around the Montparnasse district, which exudes a lively atmosphere with its boutiques, cafes, brasseries and restaurants.
